Since God divided the light and darkness, and called the day light and the darkness night, there have been hundreds of thousands of nights that followed hundreds of thousands days just like clock work!  But there is one of those nights that is VERY special because this was the night when God brought eternal light into a vey dark world!

The first to hear of this astonishing event in history were the shepherds! Remember the scriptures say, “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by NIGHT.” Imagine! The first inkling of this amazing event did not go to conquering soldiers, the rich, powerful or a mighty King! No! It came to the lowly shepherds!  What does that say about how much the Lord’s values are so different from the world around us?

But one may ask, “Why is this particular night so important?” Well, it was the night that a VERY special baby was born, namely - Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God!   Of course, He didn’t stay a baby. He grew up to become my Savior and the only one who could forgive me of my sins!
