Like others, I spent part of MLK day watching a documentary showing the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. Certainly, on this side of history, we all know that he stood for right, and I greatly admire him for choosing the tactic of non violence! As Christians, we know racism is unbiblical and wrong. Yet there is one thing I noticed, and that is in every clip of every march, white people were present in the crowds, and not as protesters.
We lived in New Orleans, LA (NOLA for short) for eleven years and the standing joke there was to say, “I think we had winter on Thursday last year.” I used to say I could be a weather man in NOLA- “Hot and humid with showers at 3:00 pm. My five day forecast would simply be "ditto, ditto, ditto, and ditto!" They say in San Diego it is usually a mild 72 degrees on most days. Wow! I could get into that. However, in my beloved Texas, we can have sunny skies at 7 am, tornado warnings at noon, and a blizzard at 6 pm. The old saying in Texas is, “If you don’t like the weather, wait an hour and it will change.” What is the relevance of this you ask?
